r_a_garzaHey, y'all. I'm new to the community and just wanted to let you know a few things about me (Or is it "myself"? That always confuses me.). My name's Rene and I'm from Texas. Born and raised here, but, due to military service (Navy) and other circumstances, I've lived up and down both coasts...and Illinois.
I've been blogging for a few years but haven't done much over the last year or so. I can't really say that I'm a ModBlog refugee since I was there for about a week before it's demise. I spent most of my time on EFX and it's subsequent incarnations. I really liked it there and made a bunch of friends, most of whom I'm still in touch with. I've tried other sites which shall remain nameless but they never had the homey, intimate feeling of EFX. It was like living in a small town with neighborhoods where people dropped by to chat. I guess I'm still looking for that.
I don't have anything specific that I like to focus on when I write. I just pour out my thoughts on whatever shiny object I happen to be fixated on at the time. I don't know about the rest of you, but unless I have something very serious to discuss or that I put up for debate (which doesn't happen all that often), I don't really care if the comments veer off-topic. I find the random, stream-of-consciousness flow of the banter almost as fascinating as its content.
